About the farm

We’re Sam and Ben, and this is our family’s farm on a hillside in the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Peachester, 20 minutes from Maleny. In 2002 it was empty, overgrown land. Years of restoring and planting turned it into what you’ll walk through today: a jacaranda shading the cottage lawn, an orchard of mango and citrus trees, and a kitchen garden full of vegetables and herbs.

We look after the farm and its animals ourselves, so we’re around if you need us and out of the way if you don’t. Watch the sunset from the veranda of the old Queenslander, wander down to the creek to look for the platypus, or do nothing at all. It’s a private haven, and we’d love to share it with you.

Is there a minimum stay?

Two nights, for every stay.

What do I pay when I book?

A 20% deposit today, with the balance charged to your card 4 weeks before check-in. If your stay is less than 4 weeks away, the full amount is charged when you book.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel up to 7 days before your stay and we’ll give you a credit to use on new dates.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Feeding the animals is a favourite with kids, and the cottage, villa and Bahche House all have room for families.

What should we bring for the animals?

A bag of carrots. The animals are rescued and hand-raised, so they’re friendly, and you can feed them whenever you like during your stay. You’ll get a map of the farm at check-in.

How far is it from Brisbane and the coast?

About an hour from Brisbane Airport, 35 minutes to the beach, 20 minutes to Maleny and 15 minutes to Australia Zoo.

Can you stay on a working farm here?

Yes. Mango Hill Farm is a working farm with alpacas, mini cows, goats, pigs, sheep, horses, chickens and ducks, an orchard and a kitchen garden. You stay in your own self-contained cottage, tiny house or villa on the farm and feed the animals whenever you like.

Is this a good farm stay near Brisbane for kids?

Yes. We are about an hour north of Brisbane, the animals are gentle, rescued and hand-raised, and Dovecote Cottage, Bahche House and Peachester Villa all have room for families. Children feed the animals every day of the stay; there are no set tour times to work around.

Is it a good farm stay for a couple?

Yes. The Tiny House On The Hill and Dovecote Cottage are the ones couples book most, for the views, the wood fire and the quiet. Every stay is private and self-contained, and we are nearby only if you need us.

Where should we stay for Australia Zoo?

Weekends book out first, so Sunday to Thursday nights are the easiest to get.
